Summary: Pousada Casa Amarela really is a paradise on earth. The island is amazing, of course, but this pousada has one of the best locations on the islands. Most of the other pousadas are on the other side of the road, so you have to cross to get to the beach. Casa Amarela is directly on the beach. With a perfect view of those amazing sunsets. From the three premium suites, you can step out directly to the two pools, and from there on to the beach. The pools are excellent, the long one is 27 metres, and is perfect for lap swimming. This one's not heated, but is perfect on a hot day. The round pool is heated, so is great to relax in at any time. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are lots of nice restaurants within walking distance, including many right on the beach, for more sunset views! I'd heard a lot about insects biting on Ihlabella, but for me it wasn't too bad. I used lots of spray, and although I got a few bites, they weren't any worse than other beach locations. Overall, thoroughly recommended.
