Positive: The young man at the reception desk was exceptionally helpful; the rest of the staff was also kind and professional. The location is very good, close to the center of Arraial d'Ajuda and not far from one of the local beaches. Both the common areas and the room were clean, well designed and pleasantly decorated. The room was large, with excellent electrical light to work or read in bed, a safe and a terrace overlooking the pool with a sight of the ocean. The bathroom was large; the shower had an antislippery floor and an easy to use system to control the water temperature. Breakfast was quite good.

Negative: They start serving breakfast at 08.00 AM, which is too late if you take tours - the day I took one, I had to give up breakfast. It did not bother me, but there are many places with steps because the building is on a steep slope; this is part of its charm, but it can be inconvenient for people with mobility issues.
