Summary: We were moved to Nerea (Mereva's sister hotel) down the block before our arrival due to the abundance of seaweed in the water. It wasn't much better at Nerea but we still swam and took advantage of the outdoor lounges/hammocks. The best thing about our experience was the staff. They were all very kind and professional. If I recommended this hotel for anything, it would be the staff. Phillipe, the spa masseur, was also amazing. He gave my friend and I the best massages we've ever had. However, the hotel itself was limited. The dining options were very limited and it often ran out of food (fish for fish tacos, bread at breakfast, etc.) We booked Mereva due to the description of the restaurant and its menu and unfortunately didn't have an experience anywhere near what we were expecting. The hotel is pretty remote if you don't have a car, so the absence of food was pretty unfortunate. We ended up having to rent a car so we could head out of the area for dinner.
