Summary: Fazenda ponte preta is a rare gem tucked away in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of brazil.
Mr. Leonardo Augusto, the proprietor, has been incredibly responsive to our communications prior to our arrival and throughout our stay at the house. His attention to detail and precision are commendable.
The XIX century colonial white and blue farmhouse stands graciously across a lovely wooden black bridge.
We were welcomed by the caretaker Mr. Abdiel, he was at the heart of our stay. His charisma, friendliness and willingness to help is admirable.
The grounds offer an exquisite array of natural species, a real treat. One flower species which is eyecatching is the bananeira passaro-de-fogo "fire bird" and we thought is very similar to a bird of the paradise while others have the most intriguing flowers.
In its interior you cannot help but to feel transported into a different era. Each room has a story to tell, filled with carefully and thoughtful stunning pieces of furniture and object d'art, from an ashtray to an art nouveau dresser in the dinning room.
An Underwood typewriter reminded my partner Henrik of one of his favourite authors William Burroughs, as it is mentioned in Naked Lunch.
We all loved spending the days chatting away in the main living area and exploring the grounds of Fazenda Ponte Preta. There's so much to do. if you like reading, spend the days gazing at nature or family gathering, Fazenda Ponte Preta is your place!
The pool area is fully equipped with a bar and an internal area with a pizza oven, electrical and wooden stove, a huge fire place, barbeque pit and two big tables fitted for a family meal and plenty more.
We loved every aspect. This is a place to switch off from everyday life and contemplate the simplicity of nature.
If there's one thing we thought the farmhouse could have, not that has made our experience less enjoyable, (is good to mention that fans are available in the house) was to put mosquitos nets in the windows as it would allow us to have the windows open in the warm nights. This is only an idea and we are not sure how easily this could be achieved.
A faultless experience. This was a treat for my mums birthday and our close and extended family in brazil. She enjoyed it throughly and so did our guests. Our days spent here will be forever remembered.
We highly recommend a stay here.
